Frequently asked questions

Straight answers to what people actually ask us before getting in touch — pricing, timescales, contracts and how the work runs.

Getting started

What happens in the free audit?

We review your website, your visibility in Google, your Google Business Profile and what your closest competitors are doing. You get a short written summary of what is holding you back and what we would fix first. It is genuinely free and there is no obligation — if you take it and fix things yourself, that is fine with us.

How quickly can you start?

Usually within a week or two of agreeing a plan. Website builds get scheduled around existing projects; SEO and social work can normally begin straight away.

Do you work with businesses outside Harrow?

Yes — anywhere in the world. Being Harrow-based simply means we can meet you face to face if you are local, which tends to matter most on larger website projects. Everything else works just as well remotely.

Can you work with a business in another country?

Yes, and we do. SEO, web design and social media are delivered over email, video call and shared documents regardless of where you are. The one thing worth checking before we start is language: we work in English, so if your site or campaigns need another language we will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit.

How do timezones work?

Our working hours are 9am to 6pm UK time, and we will always schedule calls at a time that suits you rather than us — early or late where needed. Day-to-day work runs asynchronously by email, so a time difference rarely slows a project down.

What currency do you charge in, and how do I pay?

We quote and invoice in pounds sterling. International clients pay by bank transfer or card; your bank handles the conversion. We will always tell you the full price before you commit, so there are no surprises once the exchange rate is applied.

What size businesses do you work with?

Mostly small and medium businesses — sole traders through to companies with fifty or so staff. If you are a large brand needing a twenty-person team, we are honestly not the right fit and we will say so.

Pricing and terms

What does a website cost?

A straightforward brochure site for a small business typically starts around £1,200. Booking systems, e-commerce or custom functionality increase that. You always get a fixed quote before any work begins.

How much is monthly SEO?

It depends on how competitive your market is and how much needs fixing. We quote after the audit, when we actually know what the job is — quoting before that is guesswork dressed up as a package.

Am I tied into a contract?

No. Monthly SEO and social work runs on rolling terms with 30 days' notice. We think being easy to leave keeps an agency honest.

Do you take a cut of my ad budget?

No. Your ad spend goes to the platform; our management fee is separate and agreed upfront. You can see exactly what was spent and what it produced.

SEO

How long does SEO take?

Three to six months for meaningful movement on competitive terms. Local map-pack results are often much faster — sometimes weeks, once your Google Business Profile is properly set up and verified.

Can you guarantee first-page rankings?

No, and nobody honestly can — no agency controls Google's algorithm. What we can commit to is following Google's own guidelines, fixing what is measurably wrong, and reporting truthfully on what moves.

What is the map pack and why does it matter?

The map pack is the block of three local businesses with a map that appears at the top of results for searches like "plumber near me". For a local business it is often the single most valuable position in Google, because it sits above the normal results and shows your phone number and reviews.

Will you change my existing website?

With your agreement, yes — most SEO work involves changes to page titles, headings, content and technical settings. Nothing goes live without you knowing about it.

What is technical SEO?

Everything that affects whether Google can find, read and trust your pages: site speed, mobile usability, indexing rules, redirects, duplicate content, structured data and internal linking. It is unglamorous and it is usually where the quickest wins are.

Web design

Do you build on WordPress?

Yes, and we build it cleanly — no stacking three page builders, no thirty plugins doing what five could. That is what keeps a site fast and stops it breaking on its own.

How long does a website take?

Four to six weeks is typical. The usual bottleneck is content — if your text and photos are ready it moves faster. We can write the copy if that is what is holding things up.

Will I lose my Google rankings if I rebuild?

Not if it is done properly. We map every old URL to its new equivalent and set up permanent redirects before launch. Skipping that step is one of the most common and most expensive mistakes in a rebuild.

Can I update the site myself?

Yes. We hand over with training so you can edit text, swap images and add pages without calling us.

Social media

Which platforms do you manage?

Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn primarily, with TikTok and YouTube where they genuinely suit the business. We would rather run one platform well than four badly.

Do I need to be on social media at all?

Not necessarily. Plenty of local service businesses get more from SEO and a strong Google Business Profile. What you do need is for your profiles to look credible when someone checks you out before calling — and they will check.

Do you create the content?

Yes — copy, graphics and short video. We will ask for photos of real work where possible; genuine pictures consistently outperform stock imagery.

Working with us

Who will I actually deal with?

The person doing the work. We are small and we intend to stay that way — no account manager passing messages to a team you never meet.

How often do you report?

Monthly, in plain English: what changed, what it produced, what is next. Plus you can ring us any time in between.

What if it is not working?

We tell you, and we say why. Sometimes the answer is that the strategy needs changing; occasionally the honest answer is that your money is better spent elsewhere. Rolling terms mean you are never stuck while we work that out.
